AP Studio Art 2D Design '20-'21
Taking the next step is daunting. Trying to endure perfectionism, I studied my fear of The Next “Right” Step. The 2D framework initially hindered my ambition, thus, I kept beginning. I sought out the answer to overcome by defining boundaries. I built multiple layouts, composed photos, and manipulated digitally (1,9,11,14). Being dissatisfied with digital formats, I chose to paint in order to proceed. Photoshop on my Mac became my biggest challenge. I unsuccessfully composed my paintings without references (5,9,10). After these attempts, I then chose to build through the primary colors (3,5,8,10,11,13). Line and shape propelled me to resolution. Slide 10 is an example of practicing strokes and lines that clarified my unnerving path. By layers (3,5,11), I portray how I design. Through the edges in my photos with added digitally illustrated lines, I demanded my work to intimidate (1,2,7,15). The idea of security and assurance of moving forward is clear where rendered pieces have an implanted figure. I enhanced the idea of the distance between myself and my goal with converging parallels. Each stairwell was specifically drawn to evoke an emotion that moving forward brings.
